En Pointe With Emma

     I'm Emma Bachtel! I've been training in dance since 2006 and have studied ballet, pointe, hip-hop, contemporary, modern, lyrical, jazz, and musical theatre. A majority of my ballet training has been under ABT Affiliate Teacher Natalya Vyashenko and Nurzhan Kulybaev. Under their instruction, I passed levels 5A (with Honors), 5B, and 6 (with Honors) of the American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum.  My other teachers included Linsay Fox, Tori Fox, Nadeen Green, Dani Kimble, Melissa Bertalone, and Randi Brooks. 

     I've completed Summer Intensives with Sarasota Ballet (2013), American Ballet Theatre (2016), and the Bolshoi Ballet Academy (2017), as well as a Repertory Intensive with American Ballet Theatre in 2018. I've taken classes frequently at Steps on Broadway and Broadway Dance Center as well.

   I also studied as a CCP student at the University of Akron Dance Department during my senior year of high school, where I got the opportunity to train under Kara Stewart, Alec Lytton, Pauline Howe, Jen Lehaney and Valerie Ifill.  During that time I also got to work with various artists as part of NCC Akron's "21st Century Dance Practices" including Samantha Speis, Brian Brooks, Raja Feather Kelly, Mustapha Brimah, Nicole Klaymoon, James Graham,  and Taja Will. 

     In addition to being a student, I am also a teacher! I've assistant taught hip-hop for Randi Brooks and taught hip-hop myself for Miss Michelle's Turning Pointe School of Dance. I am also the leader of the liturgical dance team at Faith Community Fellowship known as the Joy Dance Team.
